Artist Description:  "Ten was Pearl Jam’s debut and best selling album. I remember when this came out, within a year or two Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains along with a dozen other bands exploded out of the Pacific Northwest and turned the music industry on its ear. Within a year heavy metal was out and grunge was in. I have never experienced anything else like it in my lifetime. Bands went from hairspray and spandex to flannel shirts and ripped jeans. Grunge changed music and style across the world. Pearl Jam’s 10 features a psychedelic pink background behind a very dark photograph of the band all reaching together in the center of the album. I started by embroidering the background in around 25 different colors of pink and purple threads. For the band itself, since the photo is very dark and hard to make out the detail I decided to embroider it as a silhouette in black glitter fabric."
